Dry Dock Brewing is currently seeking a full-time Design Coordinator and a full-time Packager to join our team.

 

Design Coordinator

This position is located at North Dock and reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing. Dry Dock is a regional brewery and produced over 22,000 BBL in 2016.  Dry Dock’s sister company is The Brew Hut, a homebrew supply shop that is located adjacent to the South Dock tasting room.

Job Summary
Creates and sources artwork, design, and other imagery for marketing needs of Dry Dock Brewing Company and The Brew Hut. Organizes and maintains design archives for Dry Dock and The Brew Hut.

Responsibilities include

  • Assist in the launch of new products and releases by creating materials such as beer labels, sell sheets, posters, and other items as needed. Implement marketing and branding guidelines in all projects.
  • Create chalkboard signs for all beers on tap at South Dock and North Dock.
  • Participate in the Events Committee meetings in order to promote and support events at The Brew Hut and Dry Dock retail locations.
  • Provide imagery of products, merchandise, tasting rooms, and more for Dry Dock and The Brew Hut websites and other materials.
  • Develop designs for Dry Dock and The Brew Hut social media and advertising campaigns.
  • Organize and maintain archive of images for Dry Dock and The Brew Hut.
  • Develop files, designs, and other images as needed for merchandise in collaboration with the Merchandise Coordinator.
  • Work closely with entire Sales and Marketing team to establish and maintain a consistent company brand image throughout all promotional and advertising materials.
  • Manage a large number of projects simultaneously to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Relevant experience in alcohol beverage industry – craft brewery, home brew shop or distributor experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, advertising or related degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to design marketing materials on deadline with team input.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Is generally happy and can have fun, even on high stress and demanding days.
  • Has a passion for quality beer.
  • Can work in a team environment as a leader and problem solver.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Proficient in Constant Contact, Google Docs and WordPress preferred.
  • Core competencies: Business acumen, communication proficiency, presentation skills, results driven, strategic thinking, and technical capacity.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Editorial and/or a marketing/PR background helpful.
  • Ability to develop a genuine passion for our brand and products.
  • Ability to work onsite, travel, and work nights and weekends as needed for industry-related events.

Packager

This position is for North Dock and reports to the Packaging Manager. Dry Dock is a regional brewery and produced over 22,000 BBL in 2016.

Job Summary:
The Packager will report to the Packaging Manger and assist with packing beer in cans, kegs, and bottles. This is a mentally and physically intensive position that requires exceptional motivation and excellent professionalism in the face of a demanding and fast-paced production environment. They will be safety-minded, efficient, quality-focused, have a great work ethic, a positive attitude and be part of the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate canning line, bottling line, and keg washer / filler equipment.
  • Stack pallets, cases, kegs and assist with general warehouse operations.
  • Sanitation of all beer contact surfaces and equipment.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Love of craft beer and knowledge of the industry.
  • Experience in forklift operation including training others.
  • Ability to drive a delivery truck not requiring a CDL.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment as a leader and problem solver.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, in high pressure situations, while maintaining professionalism and composure.
  • Flexible schedule and adaptive to change.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new procedures and skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Is generally happy and can have fun, even on high stress and demanding days.
  • Need to be self-motivated.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time while being detail oriented.
  • Reliable transportation.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs to shoulder height and push or pull 160 lbs.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for 8 hours or more.
  • Must be able to crouch, bend, lift, twist and reach.
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, loud, and unpredictable environments.
  • Must be able to work around steam, electricity, harsh chemicals, and solvents.
