Double Brown & Hazelnut Brown

Over the weekend, Dry Dock Brewing Company debuted two new whiskey barrel-aged beers in its Signature Series, the Double Brown Ale and Double Hazelnut Brown Ale. During their first weekend out, these brand new beers were only available at Dry Dock’s new tasting room, Canoe Room at North Dock, located at 2801 Tower Road, Aurora, 80011.

Bombers of these beers will be available at Dry Dock’s original South Dock location at 15120 E Hampden Avenue in Aurora beginning on Friday, October 31 and on liquor store shelves across the state starting this week. Less than 200 cases of each beer will be distributed.

Here are the complete beer descriptions:

Double Brown Ale

This winter warmer is a double-strength English brown ale with a nutty, caramel backbone and pronounced, earthy bitterness. Dry Dock Double Brown is aged in whiskey barrels, adding depth to its toasted flavor with a hint of chocolate and notes of walnut and plum.

food pairing suggestions: Roast pork, smoked sausage, smoked salmon. Aged Gouda cheese, almond or maple walnut cake, pear fritters, cashew brittle.

Double Hazelnut Brown Ale

This full-bodied Double Brown Ale is aged in whiskey barrels with added hazelnut, which creates its earthy, nutty complexity and caramel, toffee-forward aroma.

food pairing suggestions: Barbecued duck, pepper steak, spicy food or Thai food. Aged Gouda cheese, walnut cake, pecan ice cream.
